Hospital Greed Reaches New Lows: Tea Passes For Urine
In a bid to expose exactly how greedy some Chinese hospitals have become, a group of Chinese journalists have submitted tea in exchange for urine to hospital labs. Sure enough, six out of ten hospitals called the “urine” infected, leading five of them prescribing antibiotics which cost up to $50 for a course of treatment. With some patients reporting having committed suicide rather pay exorbitant medical fees, it seems like the system of medical care in China is in serious need of reform — and has more in common with the States than they’d probably like.
